Community360 proudly joined the nationwide celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Macmillan Coffee Morning, marking more than three decades of community-driven support for people affected by cancer. The event highlighted Macmillan’s continuing work in improving cancer care and shaping the National Cancer Plan, as well as the importance of community voices in tackling health inequalities.
As part of C360 ongoing partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, Community360 has been helping to gather and amplify the experiences of local people and voluntary organisations. These shared stories play a vital role in showing how inequalities impact cancer journeys, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.
Guests were invited to stop by for friendly conversation, a chance to donate, and the “Bake it or Fake it” competition. The Coffee Morning offered a warm space to reflect, connect, and support the vital work ensuring that everyone facing cancer receives the care, compassion, and practical help they deserve.
A Morning of Sweet Treats and Strong Community Spirit
We extend our sincere thanks to our trustees, drivers, Macmillan Community Voices partners, Winsley’s House tenants, and volunteers, along with the Bangladeshi Women’s Association Essex (BWAE CIC), Age Well East, our Women’s Group, and all our community friends who joined us for meaningful conversations throughout the morning.
The event was filled with warmth, generosity, and delicious bakes. Together, the community raised over £100 for Macmillan. Judges Kelly and David bravely sampled every entry and crowned Alison as this year’s Best Baker for her outstanding Mum’s Coconut Tarts.
