Community360 Celebrates Diwali with Our Seniors’ Group

On Wednesday, 22 October 2025, Community360 was filled with warmth, laughter, and festive cheer as our Seniors’ group gathered to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights. This vibrant festival, widely celebrated in India and around the world, symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Traditionally, Diwali is marked by decorating homes with lamps and rangoli, sharing sweets, exchanging gifts, and coming together with loved ones.

Our seniors embraced the spirit of the day, arriving in their finest attire, from colourful sarees and kurtas to elegant scarves and festive accessories. The hall was adorned with shimmering diyas, bright flowers, and twinkling lights, instantly creating a joyful atmosphere. Laughter echoed throughout the afternoon as participants shared memories of past Diwali celebrations, recounted family traditions, and enjoyed fun activities specially organized for the day.

The Seniors Group delighted everyone with a spread of traditional dishes, ranging from savoury snacks to sweet treats, inviting all to taste and enjoy. The atmosphere buzzed with energy as conversations flowed, laughter filled the room, and spontaneous photo moments captured the joy of the day
“This event really brought the community together,” said Satish, CEO of Colchester Indian Association. “It was wonderful to see our seniors dressed so beautifully, laughing, and connecting with one another. The joy and sense of belonging were palpable.”

The celebration at Community360 was more than just a cultural event; it was an opportunity to honour traditions, create lasting memories, and strengthen bonds across our community. It reminded everyone that festivals like Diwali are not only about lights and sweets but about togetherness, sharing, and the simple joy of being part of an inclusive and caring community.
