At Colchester C360, everything we do is powered by people – people who give their time and energy to make a real difference in their community. Our volunteers are not just an extra helping hand. They are at the very core of what makes C360 such an impactful organisation. Quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without them.
Why Volunteers Matter at C360
Volunteering is important because it brings people together, strengthens communities and helps services expand their reach. Volunteers offer time and skills that can make a real and lasting difference, whether that is through practical support, companionship or sharing specialist knowledge. At the same time, volunteering can be hugely rewarding for the individual, helping people build confidence, develop new skills, make connections and gain a strong sense of purpose through giving back.
What Volunteering Looks Like
There is no single way to volunteer at C360 – and that’s exactly what makes it so amazing. Opportunities are varied and flexible which suits different interests and skills. From being a volunteer driver to being a trustee, researcher or community group leader – there’s something to suit everyone. Every role, big or small, plays a part in shaping the experience of those who walk through our doors.
A Place to Grow
Volunteering at C360 isn’t just about giving, it’s also about growing. Many of our volunteers develop new skills, boost their confidence, and even take steps toward employment or further education. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and encouraged to develop at their own pace.
It’s Volunteers’ Week!
Volunteers’ Week is a UK-wide celebration of the contribution volunteers make to charities, community groups and local causes every day. Taking place from 1st to 7th June, it is a chance to recognise the time, energy and commitment from volunteers and the impact they have on their communities. It is a moment to say thank you, celebrate volunteer stories and encourage more people to get involved in meaningful community participation.
Throughout Volunteers’ Week, we are sharing our volunteers’ stories through interviews that celebrate why people choose to volunteer, the incredible work they have done since joining us, and the personal benefits they gain from volunteering.
We are also running a workforce-wide volunteer nomination scheme ahead of a volunteer celebration and awards ceremony later this month. Alongside this, we are promoting not only our own volunteer vacancies, but volunteering opportunities more widely, to highlight their potential to strengthen communities even further.

To all our volunteers: thank you. Your dedication, kindness, generosity, and enthusiasm are what drive C360 forward. You are valued more than words can express, and this week (and every week) we celebrate you.
