This week is national Empty Homes Week, and with over 2,000 empty homes across the district, Braintree District Council are working to encourage empty property owners to participate in proactive voluntary engagement, exploring different options to help bring them back into use.
Every empty home removes a property from the housing market and with it the chance for people to live in suitable accommodation in our district. This is why we want to make sure we are making best use of existing houses in the district.
Braintree District Council have been proactively issuing letters and engaging with homeowners and have a range of advice and support on their website. Braintree District Council can help provide advice on how to turn empty houses into a home, rent it out and prevent it from falling into disrepair.
